Joshua sings the ABC's...mostly

Joshua has started singing along with everything! He really likes the ABC song, but it is hard to get it on tape. This is the best one that we were able to get. He insisted on holding the camera so that he could see the screen. He doesn't quite get that you can't see yourself and record at the same time.

Morgan Update

It's been too long since I've done a Morgan update. I don't have her vital stats, but I have the rest of the dirt on little Miss Morgan.
She is growing up so fast.
♪ She will be 8 months old on August 5.
♪ She is wearing mostly 9-12 month clothes with some exceptions both up and down.
♪ She is a master at sitting up, although she can't get herself to sitting quite yet.
♪ She is working really hard at getting her tummy off the ground so she can be on her hands and knees.
♪ Today she started doing that thing where babies scoot backwards before they get the crawling down. She did is just once or twice, but I think crawling won't be too far off.
♪ She is eating much better, although anything with milk in it still gives her a horrible rash on her skin.
♪ She loves bananas and applesauce. Those are by far the favorites. She also loves those little puffs.
♪ Sunday night she slept 11.5 hours. Holy moley. Sadly, Monday night was not a repeat of that, but we are getting there.
♪ She has the sweetest smile that will just light up the room.
♪ She idolizes Joshua and is so excited when he will play with her.
♪ She is very very vocal. She "talks" very loud and often. This is one of the reasons Joshua keeps his distance I think.
♪ I love her to pieces and I sometimes I can't believe how lucky I am to have her.

I'll have to do an update of Joshua later. It's 11pm and I'm sleepy!

The last week

Joshua has been obsessed with the Thomas and Friends website, so I have not gotten any time to blog or read anyone else's blog either. If Joshua isn't on the computer, then he wants to be. It's really cramping my style. :)
So here is what has been going on...
♪ Last Thursday I went out scrapbooking without either of my kids. Yahoo! It was heavenly. I adore my kids, but a break is nice sometimes. AND while I was out Ryan totally cleaned the kitchen and family room. {Sorry ladies, he's taken.} Talk about the best surprise ever.
♪ Friday I went shopping with my SIL at AZ mills mall. She got some super cute maternity clothes. I, for once, abstained from purchasing anything.
♪ Saturday we went and saw Thomas- The Great Discovery in the movie theater. I have so much to say about it, I am going to make it a separate post.
♪ Saturday we also went to my inlaws for dinner and some family bonding. It was a fun.
♪ Saturday night I was exhausted from all the activities and passed out in bed pretty early and slept really hard, leading us to Sunday morning.
♪ Sunday morning when Morgan woke me up, I could hardly move. My back was killing me. I had to have Ryan help me sit up in bed. I think I was laying weird and during the 5-6 hours since Morgan had last woken me up, I hadn't moved at all. Fun times.

That is about it.
Oh we did get a new and snazzy DigiCam{digital camera}. It is the Canon PowerShot SD750. I LOVE IT!!!

Thomas The Great Discovery

Before you say, I didn't know there was a Thomas movie in the theater, let me explain. There is a new Thomas DVD coming out in September and they were showing it in select theaters. Very, very, select theaters. We drove to Surprise, AZ to see it. For the month of July, the Ultrastar cinemas in Surprise was showing Thomas on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I didn't hear about it until mid-week, so Saturday was our only chance to go. It was Joshua's very first movie theater experience, and it was so awesome. He LOVED it!! I felt like a good Mommy that day. My parents also came and brought my niece Samantha. She's not quite as enthralled with Thomas as Joshua is, but she liked it too.
Morgan did well for the most part. She spent the 1.5 hours eating puffs, nursing, and sleeping. I was shocked I didn't have to take her out of the theater once. It didn't hurt it was a kids movie so I didn't feel obligated to take her out every time she made a peep.

Here is the funniest part of the trip. The theater we were in had a Dark Knight movie poster outside of it and only had a tiny scrolling marquee that said it was the Thomas movie. We got there about 1/2 hour earlier but when we walked in there were two men in the theater without any kids. We thought this was weird but whatever. I discovered that they were showing the Batman movie at the same time in a different theater. Later on, three elderly women came into the theater and even though there were plenty of seats made some stink about making people move so they could sit in the same row we were in. (You can put your feet up so I get it, but get there early enough then if it is so important.) These two groups of people stayed until halfway through the 100% cartoon previews. The two men snuck out one at a time, perhaps to avoid embarrassment? The women just got up and left, never to return. They must have thought it was weird that the theater was 80% small boys wearing Thomas the Train shirts. Who takes there toddlers to the Dark Knight? We got a good laugh over the whole situation.

Here is one of the pictures we took. We had to document Joshua's first movie experience, of course. The theater cleaning crew had to stand there and wait for us to finish snapping pics. Oops.

Taste The Rainbow

The organization bug has hit hard around here. The toys were just the first step. Now we have moved on to my scrapbooking supplies. You see, I have scrapbooking stuff all over the house. It's hidden under couches, in closets, Morgan's changing table, it's everywhere. I don't really have a place to call my crafting home and Ryan likes to be able to see the kitchen table on occasion. When we were organizing the toys, inspiration hit. The IKEA geniuses made their cubbies 13"X13" which is clearly large enough for 12x12 scrapbooking stuff.
Long story, longer... we bought another Expedit bookcase, this one is 2 cubes wide by 4 cubes tall. I wanted to take an awesome picture of my mounds of crafting goodness and then an get a pretty after picture. The logistics of getting all that stuff together and in one shot is daunting however. Instead I will take some random pictures as I organize and then take a happy after picture.

Today's picture is my 12 x 12 plain cardstock. I went all out and had my good buddy ROY G BIV help me get things in order. (Click on the link for more info than you ever wanted about the color spectrum. Oh and yes I am a gigantic nerd. Go big or go home, as I like to say.)

I had to take the picture from the balcony. The pile on the far right is all the stuff I didn't know what to do with. White, black, gray, cream, off white, sand, etc.

I end with an open invitation. If you are need of a particular color of cardstock, I have lots. Lots and lots. I haven't even looked at my supply of 8.5x11. Please give me a call or shoot me an email, I'm more than happy to share. (Ryan would love to see some of this stuff leave and never come back.)
