Yep. the baby is here

I realize it's been quite a while since I've posted, but it turns out that between getting ready for a baby, having a baby, and being a mother of 2, I don't have a lot of spare time.
Morgan Fox is here!!
Here's the skinny:
December 5, 2007 at 9:26 am
7 lbs 12 ounces and 20.5 inches long.
I've also put together some of the photo highlights of the journey we've been on the last month.

Here I am on the morning of the surgery.

They let me hold Morgan for a minute or two before they got her all cleaned up. I didn't get to do this with Joshua, so it was a neat experience.
She didn't care too much for her first bath.
Look! She at least has enough hair to comb. Awesome!!

Joshua gets to meet his little sister for the first time. His shirt says, "I'm bigger than my little sister."

He's not too sure about this whole sister deal.

The last picture for tonight is of Joshua and Morgan with "Santa Claus"

There will be a lot more photos to come, but for now I am tired. I forgot how exhausting it is feeding a baby every 2-3 hours. She does love to eat too!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!!

From the mouth of babes

Three posts in one day! Wowee!

Here are funny things kids have said recently that I think are worth remembering.

In primary, the younger children were asked if you could get baptized when you were older than 8 years old. This confused them a bit because they are used to being told that they will get baptized when they turn 8. One boy raised his hand and said, "I think you can get baptized when you are older than 8 because I went to the baptism of that new lady a few weeks ago and she is WAY older than 8." (We had a convert baptized into our ward a few weeks ago and she is probably in her fifties.)

Ryan's coworker told Ryan this story. Coworker took his 4 year old soon to see a new cartoon move that just recently came out. His son really loved the movie and told his Dad that he really needed to get this movie for him. So as not to disappoint his son, the coworker obtained a screener copy of the movie and they took it with them on a camping trip so the young boy would have something to watch in the car.
As the boy is watching this movie in the car he says to his Dad, "This movie is still in the theaters. I shouldn't be watching it. You had better take it back to the store. "
You have to love a four year old with a strong moral compass.

Favorite TV Quote of the week

It's a bit early to declare a favorite TV quote of the week as the Office hasn't come on yet, but this quote from Heroes has me laughing every time I think of it. Mostly because it didn't really make any sense and if you watch Heroes you know that the speaker is a pretty serious character.

Here it is:
Noah Bennet to Suresh: "You've gone NATIVE!"

Thank You Cards

My two favorite things to blog about are my kids, and crafts. Joshua and I haven't really been doing a whole lot of interesting things recently and my scrapbooking has been for a gift, so I can't really talk about that yet. Therefore I have been pretty quiet on ye olde blog. However I have made some thank you cards for those kind and generous people who have literally showered baby gifts down upon our heads. I've never really made cards before, but I have to say it was quite fun.

Pink and brown is my new favorite color combination and I had some awesome handmade paper that had lots of pink and some pink and brown. Here's a picture of the finished product.

Now I just have to write the actual notes and mail them!!

Happy Veterans-Giving-Shower Day!

This last Saturday a strange confluence events occurred which meant that Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving, and a baby shower for yours truly were all celebrated on the same day. Due to family scheduling conflicts, Thanksgiving with the in-laws was moved up a few weeks. They also decided that the price of admission for a yummy Thanksgiving meal was a baby present for little Morgan. :) Actually it was a surprise shower for me. It was most definitely a surprise. Morgan got some super cute clothes. Yay! Ryan took some pictures of the present opening, so I will have to try and post those sometime.
Here is a picture I found online of this super soft and cozy jacket that Morgan got. If you need one for your own little one, you can click on the picture to go to the Old Navy website. (Thanks for the cute jacket Nanna!)

Only 21 days left until the baby arrives. Whoa, that's soon! For those currently having to put up with my irritability, constant griping about how much everything hurts, and lack of motivation to do most anything, it's probably not soon enough.
When I was pregnant with Joshua I did a pretty good job of keeping on a good game face, because let's be honest, most people don't actually want to hear how crappy you feel. This time around though, I just don't have it in me. If you get a "fair to middling" response to "How ya feeling," consider it a good day.
